This fully family run business has been in viniculture and wine production for dozens of years, and is located in the Villány wine region, the Southernmost part of Hungary, which is also one of the most popular and acclaimed wine regions. With vines set in 35 hectares our plantations are located at the best quality terroirs of the region. Our wines are part of the local Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) – DHC Villany. Our main focus is keeping the signatures of the terroir mixed with traditional winemaking. It is especially important to our Estate to preserve and popularise Hungarian varietals. Within these goals, our aim is to capture the characteristics and ambiance of Villany.

Soils
Mainly loess and clay with dolomite, marl, limestone based, light brown pise forest soils.
Our vineyard is located in the Tokaj wine region, and was born out of the Kékessy family's dedication to winemaking, nourished by the past and heart for the future. An important part of the philosophy of our Tokaj winery is that we value the traditions of the wine region. Our wines reflect not only the diversity of the vineyards, but also the characteristics of the varieties and age of our grapes. A historian by profession, a winemaker by passion! Dr. Krisztián Ungváry is a valued Hungarian historian whose name is associated with a dozen independent volumes and over two hundred scientific publications. His serious adventure with wine began in 1996, when he purchased a two-and-a-half-hectare, historical vineyard on the outskirts of the village of Olaszliszka, near Sárostapak in the Tokaj wine region.
